FETAC Award in Employment Law

Awarding body: FETAC (Further Education and Awards Council) 
 
The course provides an overview of the component parts of Employment Law and an appreciation of how the Employment Law principles work in practice. It also provides an in-depth understanding of the statutory frameworks which regulate the employer/employee relationship. 
It addresses relevant employment legislation and case law.

Course Duration

  • February - May
  • 1 Morning Per Week - 9:30 - 12:00

Course Objectives

  •  Develop an understanding of the sources of Irish Law

  •  Understand the impact current legislation has on employment practice

  •  Understand the practice and procedures relating to disciplinary matters

  •  Appreciate the legal significance of HR policies and procedures particularly in relation to disputes or legal action

Assessments

 
All assessments are carried out in accordance with FETAC regulations.
      Assignments 40%
      Examination(theory based) 20%
      Project 40%
 
 

Award

A FETAC Certificate of Achievement will be issued following the validation of results by FETAC and the appropriate credit under the National Framework of Qualifications will then be obtained by the candidate. 

National Framework of Qualifications: Course is a level 6 component award which qualifies as 1 credit towards FETAC level 6 Certificates and is a recognised module within the National Framework of Qualifications.
