ADR Driver Training (Hazchem)

Course Introduction

The training of drivers involved in the carraige of dangerous goods is a legislative requirement, both nationally and as members of the EU. Non compliance with this legislation can result in substantial fines for all concerned in the transport of hazardous chemicals / goods.
 
 

Purpose of the training


To give drivers a thorough understanding of the hazards presented by dangerous goods and to acquaint them with the rules and regulations involved. It is the responsibility of the employer to ensure that the driver is propertly trained and certified.
 

Who should attend this course

Drivers of vehicals that transport hazardous materials. Others who require a knowledge of chemicals, their hazards and their transportation
 
 

Course duration

 
3 Day Course:
The Basic 3 day course deals with the carraige of dangerous goods in packages. (day 1, 2 & 3 of the course)
 
5 day course:
The 5 day course gives a driver the additional Specialisation Training required to carry dangerous goods in tank vehicles

Following completion of the course and a minimum 2 week interval the driver will be examined by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
