Abrasive Wheel Mounting Course


Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Applications) Amendment Regulations 2016 (S.I. No.36 of 2016) 

Abrasive wheels training is legally required for anyone involved in the purchase, selection, storage, handling, mounting, dressing and use of abrasive wheels. This includes all types of abrasive wheels either fixed (e.g. Bench grinders or polishers) or portable (e.g. angle grinders).


Minimum age requirement:   Attendees must be 18 years old.


Course Aim


The course is suitable for those with responsibility for the installation, operations and maintenance of abrasive wheels in accordance with the relevant regulations. 

The course is highly participative with the emphasis on the practical element of training.

Note: This course is specific to tools associated with abrasive wheels and not the safe use of power tools in general. 


Course Duration & Fee

  • Half day
  • €100 per person

  • NOTE: Attend a Manual Handling Course on the same day and avail of a special
  •   rate - €150 for both courses.

Assessment & Certification


Participants must pass a short theory test and a practical test.

Participants receive a Certificate of Completion.
