Basic First Aid Course

The course is designed to provide participants with a basic understanding of key First Aid situations and their treatment.

Course Objectives

The overall objective of First Aid is to:

  • Save life
  • Prevent conditions getting worse
  • Promote recovery

Course Requirements

All participants will be required to partake in practical exercises as they are an essential element of the course. Some of the exercises are on the floor, simulating real life situations. We therefore ask participants to wear comfortable and practical clothing to the course.

Participants are also asked to inform the Centre prior to the start of the course, if they are unable to take part in any of the physical exercises.

    • Bleeding
    • Wounds
    • Strains & Sprains
    • Respiratory Emergencies
    • Shock
    • Electric shock
    • Head injuries - altered levels of consciousness
    • Burns & scalds
    • Heart attacks and CPR

    Course Assessment

    Participants are reviewed and assessed throughout the day.

    Short theory examination: multiple choice questions

    Course Certification

    Participants receive a Certificate of Completion
