This course is aimed at health and safety personnel, supervisors and managers.
Course Content
On completion of the course participants will:
Understand the legal implications of health and safety in the workplace
Become aware of the general duties of employers and employees under the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act, 1989
Understand the duties of the Employer as derived from Common Law
Become familiar with the vicarious liability clause
Recognise precautionary and preventative measures that should be undertaken
Become aware of the new Code of Practice 2001 for forktruck operations including the responsibilities of managers and supervisors in equipment maintenance, training, certification and record keeping
Be able to audit controls, procedures and records to ensure compliance
