Selecting the right people is a critical factor in the success of any organisation. Equally the success of a manager resides in their ability to recruit the right people. If a manger recruits the wrong people then their job will be harder, the team's successes will be smaller and the impact on the business will be greater. Having the best employees is the ultimate competitive edge. 

Recognizing the best employee is not always guaranteed. There are many pitfalls in the recruitment process, however with the right practices some or all of these can be avoided.
