Report Writing Course

In spite of the vast developments in technology, written reports are still the major channel for the communication of information in most organisations today.

It is essential, therefore, that any form of written communication is collated into a cohesive, factual and unbiased document.

1 Day - Classroom session

Learning Objectives:

At the end of the course, participants will:

  • Appreciate the importance of planning written documents  
  • Put a cohesive structure on correspondence and reports
  • Choose the most appropriate language for the target audience
  • Tailor the style and tone of the correspondence
  • Assess and improve their proficiency in grammar and punctuation

  • Planning and structuring correspondence
  • Examining language, style and tone
  • The forgotten essential - grammar
  • Punctuation and spelling
  • Editing the correspondence
  • Practical application and writing

Course Preparation:

In order to tailor the course content the trainer would like to see some samples of non-confidential reports prepared by staff members and the delegates prior to the course, if at all possible.

All reports will be viewed in private and returned after the course.
