FETAC Project Management

Project management has traditionally been associated with engineering and construction industries. Now, however, it is recognised as a very effective approach to organising team work in all types of organisation. This programme offers managers at every level an understanding of project management and the proven techniques for planning, undertaking and completing projects.

The course is designed to provide the learner with the knowledge, practical skills and understanding required to operate effectively as a project manager or senior project manager.

Entry Requirements

There are no specific entry requirements however learners should preferably have a good working knowledge of English, have a leaving certificate or equivalent qualification and/or relevant life and work experiences.

 Learners who successfully complete this module will:

  • Analyse and plan projects in an effective and consistent fashion
  • Create, structure and organise projects using project-management tools
  • Recognise the importance of teamwork in project management

 All assessments are carried out in accordance with FETAC regulations.

     Skills Demonstration    70%
     Assignment                 30% 

 Awards:

A FETAC Certificate of Achievement will be issued following the validation of results by FETAC and the appropriate credit under the National Framework of Qualifications will then be obtained by the candidate. 

National Framework of Qualifications: Course is a level 6 component award which qualifies as 1 credit towards FETAC level 6 Certificates and is a recognised module within the National Framework of Qualifications.
