FETAC Manual Handling Instructors CourseFETAC Level 6 Special Purpose Award in Manual Handling Instruction
The course is designed to equip individuals with the knowledge, skills and competency to deliver manual handling training. The five day course consists of 6 modules leading to a FETAC Level 6 Special Purpose Award. Achievement of this award will enable the learner to transfer to other appropriate programmes leading to awards at the same or lower levels on the National Framework of Qualifications. Learners who achieve this award may transfer into the Level 6 Special Purpose Certificate in People Handling Instruction.
The HSA regulations require that all Manual Handling Instructors become FETAC certified by 2012.

AwardA FETAC Certificate of Achievement will be issued following the validation of results by FETAC and the appropriate credit under the National Framework of Qualifications will then be obtained by the candidate. National Framework of Qualifications: Course is a level 6 Special Purpose Award which qualifies as 10 credits towards FETAC level 6 Certificates and is a recognised module within the National Framework of Qualifications.
